The Flatiron Building, New York City, by Edward Steichen (1904).
Probably my favourite building in all of New York City.
10 things I absolutely love about SF
1. the weather. It’s never severe, and when it’s nice out the entire city transforms into your playground.
2. the breathtaking views I get just walking down the street.
3. the architecture
4. the fact that it’s small enough to explore it all and yet after 10 years I still haven’t.
5. there is always something to do on any given night if you want too.
6. less than half a days drive to the most beautiful places in the world.
7. the ocean!
8. watching the fog roll in faster than you could even imagine. It’s kind of amazing.
9. the food.
10. the friends I have made here.
little oddities.
I had a dream last night that was one of those dreams that feels so real, like it was actually happening. I rarely have these kinds of dreams, in fact I rarely dream at all as I am such a light sleeper I just don’t get into a good deep sleep which is why I often feel completely drained and tired even after 8 hour of sleep. But last night’s dream was almost too intense. Basically I felt the deepest love ever. I felt it, I held it and then my alarm went off. I’ve never felt love like that in real life. I feel kind of heartbroken now. To taste it and have it fade away is sort of just sad and weird.

New Project
Okay, so (500) Days Of Summer actress Zooey Deschanel’s new project isn’t exactly a TV show based on Cameron Crowe’s rock pic, but it does cover some very similar territory. She’s signed on to star in US cable channel HBO’s new pilot, which will be based on the book ‘I’m With The Band: Confessions Of A Groupie’.
Penned by Pamela Des Barres (one of the influences for Penny Lane in Almost Famous), it chronicles her adventures as she bedded musicians and movie stars in the late 1960s.
In her time, Des Barres added the likes of Mick Jagger, Jimmy Page, Don Johnson and many more to the notches on her bed post, but while the life was glamorous and exciting for a time, there was always the prospect of a younger model waiting to take her place.
The half-hour show (assuming it gets picked up beyond the pilot) will chronicle both the highs (some literal, we’d figure, given the era) and the lows in half-hour episodes.
